The Conley Family
The COnley's story
The Plunge committee searches for a person or family every year who has had a terrible misfortune or catastrophic event that has turned their life or lives upside down with the hope of helping them financially and emotionally. The Conley family, Kevin, Amy, and their three sons, Kevin, Danny, and Ryan were the recipients of The Keefe Family Polar Plunge 2020. Kevin Sr, who has been involved in youth sports as a coach to young athletes in football, basketball, and baseball, and his wife Amy a nurse at Lowell General Hospital lost their home to a fire on West Forest Street, December 13th, 2019. Not only did they lose their place of security and comfort forcing them to move into a hotel in Chelmsford, MA but they also lost all the contents, personal belongings, invaluable treasures, and a new puppy. Kevin was flying home from a work trip during the fire, thankfully the kids were at school and his wife Amy was at work.
It was our hope to raise money to help pay their insurance deductible and have the five of them recognize that, people from all over, many of whom will not know them, care and want to help get them back on their feet. Sometimes that emotional uplift is more important than the money raised. The Polar Plunge donations helped the Conley family in so many ways besides the financial help. Kevin and his family continue to take part in Ray Keefe's Polar Plunge to give back to such a wonderful organization that continues to help families in need.

A note From the Conley's
We lost our house on December 13th 2019. It was a tough time of year with the Holidays and three teenage boys. Shortly after Ray reached out to our family to donate the polar plunge that year to our family to help with expenses. As a family, we are forever grateful to Ray, the polar plunge, and the entire Lowell community. My kids learned valuable life lessons on how to be givers and help people in need.
