"The goal of this event is to bring the community together and help individuals in times of need. The Polar Plunge philosophy is not just the raising of much-needed funds for someone in need, but the outpouring of support and love from those that the family knows and those that they don’t. That love is a huge part of helping a family gain the strength to fight and know that they are not alone. It’s very empowering to know that you have an army behind you. Since the very beginning, the goal has always been simple and the same. If we can make a difference in a person or family’s life, even for just a day, it’s all been worth it. " -Ray Keefe
The Keefe Family

In 2008 Ray Keefe and his family started Plunging to bring the community together for a family in need of support. From two people plunging in the inaugural year, the plunge has evolved to hundreds of people plunging and donating. Due to the incredible success and the generosity of so many people, the benefactors began to pay it forward. Unfortunately, there are past recipients who will always need help. In keeping with the spirit of paying it forward Ray and the Polar Plunge committee will be donating 10% of the proceeds raised for our new benefactor to past recipients who continue to struggle with either debilitating or burdensome circumstances.
