Shawn Mulligan

Shawns Story

At 56 Shawn a dear friend, was first diagnosed with an invasive blood infection. Many months have been filled with meetings with specialists in Boston, multiple hospital admissions, many surgeries, and endless medications.  Shawn was then diagnosed as having multiple myeloma during an admission to Tufts Medical Center. Multiple myeloma is not curable, but it is treatable.

Shawn is a military veteran, who is now unable to walk aned also not able to use his left shoulder or arm. He faced treatment for his cancer, as he tried to defeat infections in his foot, shoulder, heart and one lung.  He still is unable to drive and has a few more surgeries to battle.

The plunge was done in his honor to try an elivate some of the burden of the finantial and emotional strain this would cause on any family or individual.
